The
day got off to a slow start with me getting to sleep in a bit. When I got up I
started collecting all my things from around the room and packed my bag.
Woohoo, it all still fits!

I
then took a shower before taking a walk to El Carmen for a triple (big
sandwich). I also took a walk to the library and finally managed to return
Lily's books. I tried to get some bus munchies but unfortunately the mini
market was closed so I will have to return later. I took a walk back to the hostel
where I did some more blogging and photo sorting while killing some time.

I
then took a walk to find some lunch and ended up a My Friend's Hostel for a
menu of the day where I had a salad and pollo saltado. From there I continued
walking a bit before ending up at Jan Pix where I chatted to some friends
before heading back at Meri where I sat thinking about what to do for my last
first drink in Huanchaco.

I
took a walk to find some bus munchies and on the way bumped into Juliane and
Trish so followed them while chatting for a while. We said some farewells (or
till I see you agains) before I found a
mini market to grab an ice cream and a few munchies for the bus before
returning to the hostel for some WiFi.

Sarah
came to join me at the hostel and we took a walk up to the church (the oldest
in South America) for sunset and my final first drink of the day in Huanchaco.
We sat outside the church for a while before being chased away for drinking so
we went around the corner where Eliane joined us. We sat chatting for a little
while before making our way back down to the beach. Here Eliane returned to
Casa Amelia and we said out farewells and Sarah and I made our way to La Gringa
for another drink and some more farewells.

After
enjoying another beer and saying my farewells to my Gringa friends I said
farewell to Sarah and made my way to Meri. Here I had some more beer and got
some Pollo la Brasa as my final dinner. I even had it delivered this time as I
was feeling a little lazy. After dinner I killed some time by chatting to some
friends and having a few more beers.

Eventually
the time came to make my way to Trujillo at about 11 so I took a walk to the
pier to grab a cab and found La Gringa open so popped in to say another quick
farewell. From here I grabbed a cab to make my way to the bus station. When we
arrived it was all locked up and closed. After knocking a few times the
security guard came to the door and let me in. It doesn’t feel like I'm at the
correct place but another guy looked at my ticket and he also seemed to be
happy with it so I sat and waited to see what happened.

This
was probably the hardest set of farewells I have had to say as I have made some
good friends around here. On the way to the bus station I even started
wondering if I should turn around and stay another night (I decided not to) as
I need to get going again. Huanchaco has been good but I do feel that it is
time for me to move on. I am leaving some good friends behind and on my way to
meet some others and I know I will see them again somewhere in the future. This
place definitely has a special place in my heart.

I
sat at the locked bus terminal and waited for my bus which was due to depart at
23:55 which came and went. Eventually at 00:40 there was some movement and I was
able to check my bag in. Shortly thereafter there was some hooting and the
security guard sprung into action and opened the gate for the bus to enter and
a few people jumped off and I got my seat.

At
first I wasn't very tired so I started watching a movie but a few minutes into
it I decided to try and get some sleep. I purposely got an expensive ticket so
I could have a full cama seat with space. I didn’t exactly get the space I
wanted but it will do. After watching the movie for a while I found a comfortable
position and got some sleep. I woke up a few times but I am surprised at how
much sleep I did get.
