Fortunately
I set 2 alarms as the first didn't wake me but on the second try I got up and
headed to Rolandos Backpackers to catch the cab to the bus station. Leaving the
hostel wasn't so easy as I was locked in but after a few bell rings they were
up and let me out.

At
the bus terminal there was a little more confusion as my ticket I get yesterday
needed to be changed to an actual ticket but there was nobody to help me.
Eventually I got a guy to check in my luggage and then waited for the ticket
office to open to issue me with a ticket. I was given a seat number but when
boarding the bus it was clear that the seat number meant absolutely nothing.
Fortunately I was one of the first to board so managed to get a window seat and
nobody was next to me. It wasn't the simplest process and there doesn't seem to
be any logic but I'm on the bus and ready to catch some more sleep!

On
the bus I fell asleep immediately and only woke up when we stopped for some
breakfast where I had a chicken and cheese sandwich before we were on our way
again and I was sleeping again. We made a few other stops to drop people and
pick up others but I was asleep for most of that. We then stopped for lunch but
didn't need anymore food so I just grabbed a beer.

Back
on the bus I managed to sleep some more and half watched a movie that was on
before sleeping some more. The journey wasn't that exciting but it did let me
catch up on some sleep.

We
arrived in Santiago de Cuba at about 10pm and outside the bus terminal we were
swamped with people trying to sell casa particulars. I grabbed a cab with 2
Swiss guys and we made our way to the casa particular that Alexis sold us. They
shared a room in Alexis's house while I went across the street to a private
room.

I
wasn't feeling up to much exploring in the dark so I settled into the bed and
sorted out some photos and even watched a movie as I wasn't feeling tired after
all the sleep on the bus.
