It
was a slow morning and I spent most of it in bed catching up on my blog before
having some breakfast at the casa and taking a walk to the centre for a mojito
before my bus.

I
took a walk from Casa Isabel to the bus station and in no time I was sitting
with my ticket in my hand waiting for the bus (I was early as usual). While I
sat more and more people arrived and got their tickets. The room had no fans or
aircon and I was dripping sweat while sitting there. It was so bad that I could
probably wring out my t-shirt!

After
a short but hot wait we were able to board the bus. The bus got more and more
full and the passengers kept on coming. Eventually there were more passengers
than seats... Problem. The extra passengers stood outside chatting to the
driver trying to make another plan (I assume). After a 30 minute conversation a
few got on the bus while 3 were left behind (I imagine they would get a taxi).
We were finally on our way and as we left Baracoa we kept stopping to pick up
more people. They were all locals and stood in the isle and ended up just
catching a lift into the mountains as opposed to going all the way to Santiago.
The rest of the bus ride was rather uneventful and I managed to catch some
sleep before we passed through Guantánamo and on to Santiago.

Once
I got my backpack I rushed to get a ticket to Holguín but unfortunately didn't
have time to grab anything to eat before I was pushed onto the bus. On the bus
I started reading the sequel to my previous book and it was called Edward
Adrift. I read until we arrived in Holguín where I checked what time my bus
would leave to Cienfuegos and then grabbed a cab to a Casa. At the casa I
chatted to Rosa before grabbing a beer and chilling in my room. I watched a
movie before I called it a night.
