I
was up early to finish off the kill room. It used to be called the puppy palace
but we have had to change its name as it's now going to be the
"hospital". We laid out the plastic on the floors and also put some
plastic on the tables to have it ready for when the vet arrives.

He
was due to be here by 9 but by 11 there was still no sign of him. Definitely on
Ecuadorian time. Shortly after 11 he arrived and Kim took Freckleberry and
Rosie to get worked on first. I managed to watch (not enjoy) the first half of
the Stormers vs Brumbies playoff game with a refreshing beer. The game didn't
get much better but I continued with the beer before having some lunch and
taking Frankie to Kim and Chris's place to have their operation. Pity the kill
room isn't going to get used.

Frankie
(a 9 year old street dog) had to be walked there as he doesn't like cars and he
curiously walked around the complex while we waited. The wait wasn't long
before we walked into one of the apartments where the dining room table was set
up for surgery. We soon had Frankie on the table and the surgery began.

Very
quickly his balls were in a jar and he was moved to the recovery couch. We
stayed and chatted for a while before I went up to Kim and Chris's place and
enjoyed a beer. We checked in on the dogs for a while and eventually left to
head to the cabanas and get some dinner going.

I
met 2 new work awayers and we had some dinner and cocktails before they retired
and the rest of us went out in search of the discotek. It wasn't much fun but
the locals seemed to enjoy the dancing and grinding on each other.

We
were only out for about an hour before I decided it would be nicer at home. On
the way out we found a blue footed booby (my first) sitting on the side of the
road a little bewildered. We picked it up and gave it some prawns and water but
he didn't seem very interested. On my way home I checked on him and he hadn't
moved and he looked much the same.
