After
another night waking up scratching I got up at 8 and made my way to Sarah and
Kathrin's room. Here Kathrin was almost finished packing but I still tried to
convince her to stay longer with no luck. She finished off packing and we made
our way to have some breakfast.

After
breakfast we chatted a bit before it was time for Kathrin to make her way to
Guayaquil to catch her flight home. We took a walk to the bus stop and had to
run to catch the bus which meant a very quick goodbye before Sarah and I made
our way back to the hostel.

I
made my way to the beach for a swim before getting into my faithful hammock and
read a little. I then returned to the hostel to do some laundry and met up with
Sarah and we decided it was time for some lunch. We headed to the faithful Al
Paso restaurant and grabbed something to eat and some internet before heading
back to the hostel for a much needed nap.

I
then took a walk around inviting some friends to join us in Montanita for the
evening but there were no takers so it would just be Sarah and I. I returned to
the hostel for a shower before the sunset. I do wonder when last I put so much
cream on my body. I apply sunscreen about 2 times a day and then mosquito
repellent about 3 times a day. Its crazy!

We
made our way to Montanita where we had a few drinks at one of the little
cocktail stands before taking a walk along the beach front. We eventually made
our way back to the party district and found a burger stand (hamburguesa a la
Nico) where we had a burger and a beer. We were sitting outside and there was a
club called Alcatraz on the floor above us and across the road. To fit it's
name the walls were fences and barbed wire and there was even a guard tower.

From
here we walked a little and bumped into Chino (a peruano I met in Huanchaco)
who made us some cocktails which we enjoyed before going into a club and
dancing for a while. It got really hot inside despite the open roof so we left
and continued dancing at a little cocktail stand until we decided to call it a
night and catch the 4am bus back to Ayampe. At the bus stop we were told that
the first bus is at 5 so decided to grab a cab instead.

Montanita
was fun but it is where you go to party. The beach is sandy and big but the
town is so built up and doesn't fit into where it is. The few blocks where the
parties are take me back to Koh San Road in Bangkok as every place was playing
different music but trying to make it louder than its competitors. It is fun
but I am happy that I am staying in Ayampe. My little pueblo!
