I was awake early to get my things together but as usual the taxi was late (I had planned for that). I said my farewells and my thank yous before jumping in the cab and making our way to El Cuco. It wasn't a long drive and as I got there I wish I could stay longer and I almost had to. At reception I told them I was here for the shuttle to Antigua that leaves at 9:30 (I was early) and they were confused as that normally leaves at 8. They gave the company a call and they said it's leaving at 11:30 so I made my way to the beach to read a little and kill some time.

The shuttle had forgotten me but the plan was to take me to San Salvador and I would jump on another shuttle there. In the first shuttle I slept most of the time after spending the past two nights on a short couch. The wait for the change at the meeting point wasn't long. I joined the new shuttle and we headed to the boarder.

There was plenty of traffic at the border and we got stuck behind some trucks and would have been there much longer if it was not for some very South African mini taxi driving to get around the trucks and get us to the ordinary car queue. Once through passport control we enjoyed a sunset from the shuttle before being stopped by road works and more traffic.

We eventually got into Antigua and I made my way straight to the hostel for a drink and a catch up. After some hard earned beer I managed to get away for some food which I desperately needed.

I met up with my old friends at the bar before heading to John's house to stay there a night or two.
