I
was up early as usual and headed to the common area for some breakfast and
WiFi. Rowan and Gordon joined me shortly after and we spent most of the morning
in the pool reading and chatting before packing our bags and checking out.

We
took a walk to the ADO bus terminal and Gordon grabbed a cab to the ferry to
make his way to Isla Mujeres. Rowan and I grabbed airport bus tickets and he
headed to the airport to go enjoy a few weeks in Austin with Cheryl. It's been
awesome travelling with him and catching up on our different routes and also
just to enjoy each other’s company. We have been in 5 countries together now
and I know that there will be more. It's been really special to catch up with
Gordon and Rowan after so long.

Once
Rowan left I headed back to the hostel for a few beers before heading to get
some street food just around the corner. Once again I wasn't disappointed by
some pork tacos. I headed to the hostel, grabbed my bag and went back to the
bus terminal and headed to the airport. Here I checked in nice and easily
before grabbing a bottle of Glenmorangie for Damien and I to enjoy along the
way.

The
flight was good and as we flew into Miami the pilot took us over the city which
gave me a bit of perspective as I watched it extend into the distance. Immigration
on the other hand took over an hour to get through and I was surprised at how
inefficient it was but eventually I got through and from there it was a breeze.

By
this time Damien had found a bar and was waiting for me with a cold beer, a
warm smile and a big hug. It was great to see him again and I was really
looking forward to catching up with him over this week. We got a cab from the
airport and headed to the hotel where we checked in and had a few drinks before
heading out. We were recommended a place called King of Diamonds but the cabbie
said that Tootsies was better so we made our way there. Needless to say that
the drinks kept flowing and the night was over when we closed the place and
headed back to the hotel room where we had another drink before calling it a
night after sunrise.
