When
I got up I went straight into action and got the day going. I went to the
market to get some breakfast, well only because that's what time of day it is.
I had 4 sopas. These are not soups as I expected but rather small tortillas
with mole negra, meat of your choice and some salad. I really am loving this
food.

I
took a walk from the market to the main road to catch a colectivo / bus to
Mazunte and Zipolite. The bus was the first to arrive so I jumped in and got my
adventure going. It didn't take long to start as the bus driver immediately
started playing some local hits.

I
struggled to stay awake on the bus but fortunately managed to hear the driver
call my stop. I jumped out and headed down another road where I waited for a
colectivo. It didn't take too long but was rather full so I hung onto the back
and stood on the bumper of the bakkie.

In
Mazunte I took a walk to the beach Which was really small but I was ready for a
swim so I quickly put my bag down and had a good swim. This beach was also red
flagged so the waves were really strong and so was the current. While swimming
I noticed another much bigger beach around the corner so once I had all my
stuff I started walking again and found the beach. I sat and watched as the
waves took out their anger on the rocks. Soon afterwards I decided it was time
for a beer. After sitting there and enjoying the view I decided to have some
food. I had a pulpa de ajillo (garlic calamari). It wasn't the tastiest meal
but the amazing thing is that it came with fries.

After
the food and a very big beer I took a walk to the end of the beach before
turning around and going back to where I started to catch a colectivo. In the
road I waited a while but before long I was told to be on the other side of the
road. I jumped into the next side of the road and caught a collective and when
in San Augustine I realised I got my sans confused. I wanted San Antonio so I
had to wait for the next one to make my way back. I waited a little while and
hung off the back again all the way to the correct San.

When
I got there a bus arrived very quickly so I jumped in to get back to Puerto
Escondido. The one question that I have is what is the price of the colectivos?
Every time I take one they are different prices and even longer trips are cheaper.
I think they see a gringo and just say a number. I think I should ask a local
for the cost first or something.

In
the hostel I did some research about busses and where to stay before we all
went to an Arabic place for dinner. I enjoyed some fresh humus with chicken and
bread which was a change from the local feasts. After dinner we returned to the
hostel and enjoyed a beer before calling it a night and watching a movie in
bed.
