I
got to have a bit of a sleep in and was even joined by Pablo (the cat) for the
last few hours but eventually I got up and left him there. After some breakfast
I took a walk to the library to return Lily's books (but it was closed) so I pushed
on to the laundry to get some washing done.

I
then organised to get some more wings to smoke this evening to get the party
going later. I also did some blog updating before sitting and watching some
championship tour surfing on TV. I realised the other day that I haven't been
surfing in about 2 weeks. The swell has been erratic but I have also been rather
lazy. I think I will hit the sea again further north as I have a lot of beach
time ahead of me.

After
a while I started up on some research again (man it's been a while since I had
to do this) and booked my San Blas Islands tour. It's going to be crazy. A boat
trip in the Caribbean, through islands, over my birthday and with Damien. I'm
excited and scared! I also had a look into buses to Vilcabamba and think I have
decided what I will do but not booked anything yet.

I
was on afternoon shift and it was very quiet so was able to get the fire going
for the wings. We cleaned, salted, hooked and hung them in the drum before
sealing it up and putting it over the coals which allowed me to get back to
work. By this time there were a few people coming for dinner and drinks. I said
a farewell to Stefani and Anne-Sophie (two Belgian girls and some of my first
friends in Huanchaco).

The evening started getting going a bit later
when the wings were ready and the locals arrived. They took the big table in
the bar which filled it up pretty quickly and left little space for people who
needed me to serve them (I’m not complaining). After some drinks, wings and a
few orders I closed the bar and we headed out.

We
made our way to Mamacha where I left the crew to go see some friends at Jan Pix
who were having a karaoke night. It was rather quiet there so tried to convince
them to join me to no avail and headed back to Mamacha. It had picked up a
little but was still rather quiet.

Somehow
the night disappeared and I got to bed at 4 in order to enjoy some sleep before
my last shift.
