I, and the rest of the dorm, got an early start and I made my way to collect my rental car. I booked a Challenger looking to get an American muscle car experience and the mustang was twice the price. I was presently surprised to find out that they didn't have any challengers available so they gave me the Mustang instead and to top it all off its a convertible. It's not the Ferrari that we had in Miami but it is a he'll of a lot of fun.

After enjoying the car for a bit I put on my road trip sound track (Coldplay - Head Full of Dreams) and very quickly got distracted by the views. I started out along the coast from half Moon bay and headed toward Santa Cruz stopping multiple times to take some pictures of the scenery and obviously the car.

It's so good to be on the move again and this is a phenomenal way to kick it off. The small section of coast to Santa Cruz had me stopping multiple times and I can only imagine what the rest of the route has to offer. I stopped in Santa Cruz for some lunch and a little amble around. It seems to have a large surfing culture and a closed theme park on the beach. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to look around so I didn't get to have a good feel for the city.

I then made my way to Monterey which again took longer than expected due to all the stopping and car fun. In Monterey I made my way to Sunset Drive which seemed like a good place to watch the sunset. As I arrived I realised that I wasn't the only person with this idea as the parking areas filled up quickly with observers. It got cold quickly so I jumped into my trusty steed to stay warm and enjoy yet another stunning Pacific sunset.

After dark I decided to find a motel and pulled into the 3rd one I saw and got the cheapest room where I chilled a bit and enjoyed some WiFi before heading into the downtown area to find a bar and meet some locals.

The bar wasn't that exciting and as I was driving I hardly had anything to drink and decided to call it a night after chatting to a few locals and dancing a bit.
