We took an easy start to the day after laughing about the
night before and made our way to the beach at around midday. We took a walk
from our hostel to Ipanema and then around through to Copacabana. Obviously we
needed some fuel for this trip so we stopped for multiple beer refills.

Once in Copacabana we found a little beach bar where we
could rehydrate and enjoy the sun and views.

Later that afternoon we made our way to Belmonte restaurant
where we tried a few pastels (similar to a fried pastry with various fillings)
and then shared a Picanha a Brasileira. This is a specific cut of beef similar
to sirloin that is very popular in Brazil. This was served with rice, black
beans, salsa, chips and something that I can only describe as scrambled egg
coated in flour (was surprisingly good). All in all, it was very good but both
Damien and I could finish it...at least we had some leftovers for later.

That evening we took a walk around our neighbourhood to look
for a local bar or pub where we could plan our next few days. After walking
around for a while we ended up at the bar right next to the hostel which had a
very extensive local and international beer menu. Needless to say we enjoyed a
few beers, but never got down to any planning and yes, we also closed the
place...
