For
some reason I was up by 10 but unfortunately missed breakfast. I packed my bag
and then sat at the pool enjoying some internet before Gordon arose. We relaxed
around the pool before going to get some street tacos for lunch.

Back
at the hostel Gordon's hangover started kicking in but we managed to get to the
bus station. When there I found out that there were 2 bus stations and that Rowan
was probably at the other one. Gordon wasn't feeling strong so he decided to
give the bus a miss and headed back to the hostel while I made my way to the
other terminal.

As
I walked in it was great to be greeted by the hairy friendly face. After a
quick chat we made our way to the colectivo station to head to Tulum all the
while sharing stories and experiences since we last saw each other in Cusco.
Rowan also pointed out that this is the 5th country that we have met up in. To
make the colectivo ride more fun we enjoyed a few beers in the back seat and in
no time we had arrived.

We
found a hostel and went to walk around Tulum. The town itself has nothing much
to see in terms of a main square or historical buildings so we quickly headed
to the beach. On the beach we found a bar and had a few beers and some food
while enjoying the views of the palm trees lining the beach. Unfortunately all
the beaches in this area have seaweed all over (strange thing that happens very
rarely). After more catching up and Rowan sharing with me what it was like in
Kathmandu during the quake.

We
then took a walk back to the hostel while being attacked by mozzies. The walk
was far but it was quick and enjoyed a swim at the hostel before turning to
some beers, a cigar and more catching up before calling it a night.
