After the big night the night before we eventually got up
around lunch time and started thinking about what we want to do in Beunos Aires
and also what we were going t do for new year and obviously this had to be done
over a beer.

We did some planning in the hostel and enjoyed a few beers.
Not much planning was done but we met a few people from the hostel and arranged
to go to dinner with them later that night. We chose a restaurant that was just
around the corner from our hostel called Del Plata as it always seemed to be
busy.

Damien, Brian, Nathan and I managed to get a table at about
10pm and we all decided on the rib eye and a bottle of Malbec to help it down.
After enjoying a few sips of wine the steak arrived on a silver grill platter
and all of our eyes lit up and we tucked in. It was awesome, cooked perfectly
and beautifully tender and tasty. After pigging out we got a few leftovers and
decided to head back to the hostel.

While we were waiting for the bill Damien got chatting to
another table who we joined later for some more wine and great conversation.
Here we met Bre, Rory and Jeff.

After more wine Rory invited us to go watch a friend of hers
perform just down the road. Obviously we said yes and we made our way a block or
two to this door with no signage or anything indicating what this place was. We
continued up the stairs and as we looked through the doorway we just saw about
100 people dancing tango...we had stumbled onto a local’s milonga! Damien and I
just looked in awe, this was absolutely amazing! What was amazing about this
one is that there were no tourists or people trying to sell you anything,
everyone was just there to dance and boy could they dance.

After a few beers Brian and I decided to head back to the hostel
while Damien continued to be mesmerised by the dancing. At the hostel we sat
outside with a bunch of people having some more drinks before deciding to call
it a night.
