We
were up early and quickly got ready and joined our tour group and headed to the
dock. Here we waited to get assigned to a boat which we jumped on and got given
our gear. This took a while but eventually we were on our way. They ride out
was ok with us bouncing on the waves for an hour or so while we watch the coast
disappear in the horizon. I even saw a few flying fish as we were going. Once
we hit the whale sharks there were boats all around and people splashing in the
water getting a view of them.

We
were split into groups and jumped in two at a time to enjoy these amazing fish.
The sheer size of these fish (they were not even as big as they get) is phenomenal.
During one swim the guide told Rowan and I to stop swimming which we didn't
understand why but the next thing there was another whale shark swimming
straight for us with its mouth wide open and it really felt like I was going to
be swallowed alive.

Once
we all had a few swims we returned to the boat. While on the boat I felt a
little sick with all the bobbing up and down but fortunately it was over when
we got going again. We headed back to the island where we went snorkeling on a
reef for a little while before enjoying some ceviche, sandwiches, fruit and
mini beers. After lunch we returned to the dock and took a walk back to the
hostel where we had a nap.

Just
before sunset we decided to get some food and took a walk to the beach to enjoy
my first Caribbean sunset before heading back to Lolitas for another delicious
dinner. After dinner we had a few drinks at the hostel before having an early
night (that's about 1am these days).
