I
was up early for a cold shower and then we made our way to en Dolce for some breakfast.
It was so good to smell all the fresh bread and croissants. The breakfast was
huge and I needed the walk back to the hostel to work some off it off.

From
the hostel we caught a cab to the teleférico where we got some great views of
Quito and an appreciation for its size. No matter how far we looked all we saw
was the city sprawling. We walked to a few miradores before heading back down
and raking a colectivo back to the hostel. Before heading to the hostel we
walked around a little to find a bank and grabbed some fruit salad for lunch.

At
the hostel I collected my laundry and packed my bag before heading to the
terrace bar for some drinks. Here we planned the trip from Cape Town to
Amsterdam and added some European festivals to the trip. I am not sure how I
will afford all of this but I will do it.

After
a few drinks and closing the bar I made my way down to the fish pond to wait
for my cab to the airport to sleep there and catch my early morning flight to
Mexico!

When the cab arrived I went to get my bags out
of the luggage store and as I walked in I saw my big green bag and my day bag
with my passport etc wasn't there. My heart skipped a beat or 2 before I took a
breath and had a look on the shelves and found it there. I immediately looked
to see if my passport was still there before I started breathing normally and
made my way to the cab.

In
the cab I surprised myself with the amount of conversation we managed to have
with my broken and limited Spanish. After about 45min and some very heavy mist
we arrived at the airport. I took a walk around to see where I needed to check
in before finding a bench to have a few hours nap.

None
of the benches were very inviting but I am pretty sure I can find a way to
sleep in most places.

My
mind is still trying to figure out how I can make the next two planned trips
work. I am definitely going to need to think out of the box here and push my
boundaries but I guess that all adds to the excitement.
