For some reason I was awake bright and early without the need of an alarm. I picked up my bags and headed to reception to checkout and headed to the L. Walking through the city in the morning there were plenty of people around still enjoying the party from last night even though the bars would all have closed at 4 (it's now 5). I guess that's normally me...

The flight wasn't long and as we came in to La Guardia we got some amazing views of the city skyline and a very small green dot called the statue of liberty. Once in the airport I followed the directions to the hostel which got me trying to figure out the subway system. I checked in and chatted to the reception getting ideas of what to do and where to go.

As it was a nice day and I decided to get a camera before enjoying Times Square and Central Park. This meant a lot of walking! After seeing the barren trees and ponds with people enjoying the rowing boats I kept walking before deciding to turn around just over half way through the park. I made my way down 5th avenue back towards Rockefeller centre and along the way I enjoyed all the Christmas lights and even a musical light show. I then made my way up Rockefeller centre to enjoy the view from the top.

After fighting all the Christmas crowds and tourists I made my way to an Irish pub for a few beers where I met a couple from Boston and we chatted for a while before I headed back to Times Square to enjoy it by night. Surprisingly it wasn't as busy as it was during the day. I then headed to the subway to head back to the hostel.

At the hostel I enjoyed a last round with some other guests before calling it a night.
