After
a long day and a massive dinner I had a lekker sleep before getting up for
breakfast. I met an elderly British couple and girl from Brazil. We had a good
chat over breakfast and then got ready for the day. Ana (girl from Sao Paolo)
and I took a walk to the main road to find a cambio and an ATM before taking a
walk to find some parks. By now it was hot and I was sweating a lot but it was
great to be out and about walking around town.

We
eventually made it to the top of cerro Gloria which is 1000m above sea level
and gives great views over Mendoza and also gave us an understanding of how big
Mendoza is. At the top there is a monument to soldiers from the Andes war and
also a tribute to general San Martín (so Many streets and things named after
him all over). We made our way down to parking area where we sat on stairs for
a rest and I lay down and think I actually had a mini siesta. We then walked back
down through independence square and back to the hostel. Here I caught up on some
WiFi before having a shower and making my way to the bar street to meet Cheryl
and Rowan. After a few beers, dinner and wine I headed back to the hostel.
