After
a chilled night we managed to sleep through the alarm and got up at 9am for
breakfast and made our way back to the bus terminal to find a bus to Pucon. We
easily managed to get a relatively cheap bus for the next day (considering how
expensive the bus from El Chalten to Bariloche was).

We
then walked into town to get a local bus card so we can go do some exploring.
We took the bus along the lake and got out at the base of a hill which we
decided to climb and get a view of the area and man was it worth it! This area
is called the lake district for a reason. There were lakes everywhere with bits
of land in between. It was spectacular.

We
decided to take the chair lift down and made our way to the bicycle rental
place but they had none left…we had another option just down the road and we
were lucky enough to get the last two bikes there. After a few suggestions from
the guy at the rental office we got going and before long were at the hotel
with more amazing views of the area. We then pushed on to try and find Leguna
Esperando where we could have a swim and the water was supposed to be really
warm.

We
got off at a point where the bike rental guy told us to and asked the lady at
the information desk where the leguna was and she said its 4km that way…without
thinking about it much we made our way and found another lake after about 20
minutes but it was not very inviting and didn’t sound like the one the guy was
talking about. After walking a little further we decided that we were on the
wrong track so turned around and as we left we asked the lady again and she
said that we can cycle further and then we can walk about 10 minutes to
it…thanks…

We
jumped back on our bikes and made our way to another parking area which had to
be the right one now. We started walking and after about 10 minutes hit the
pier and we had finally found the laguna. I stripped down and jumped in and
yes, the water was awesome! The only problem is that the wind made it a little
chilly when you got out so Rebecca (still sniffling) decided not to swim.

We
then made our way back to the bikes and continued on our way but we were in a
bit of a rush now as we need to get the bikes back and we were running out of
time so couldn’t stop as much as we would have liked.

We
managed to return the bikes with 15 minutes to spare after covering 25km and
pushing them for most of the uphills. We were greeted with some local chocolate
and went inside to grab some water before making our way to the bus stop to
head back into town.

In
town we grabbed some groceries and made our way back to the hostel to cook and
have a quiet chilled evening. Unfortunately the hostel bar had other ideas with
treating the common area like a club which kept us up until 3 am when Rebecca
eventually had enough and went to ask them to turn it down only to be told that
music brings ppl together). After a little longer the music stopped and finally
got some sleep…
