We
got up at 10 to get the day going and made our way for some breakfast and
coffee before we all went to try and get to the cave. We got there at low tide
but were again unable to walk there. I guess we have to swim or take a boat but
there were plenty of rocks around so decided against the swimming option. We
carried on walking to various miradors to catch a look down the cliffs and
along the beach.

On
our way back we cooled off with a swim and collected some shells before Sarah
and I made our way back to the hostel to head into Bahia for the afternoon.

After
a shower we headed to the main road to catch the bus where we grabbed an ice
cream while we waited. Fortunately the wait wasn't very long and we jumped on
not knowing how far the bus would take us.

Finally
we managed to cross the bridge into Bahia! The bus dropped us just after the
bridge and we took a walk into the centre and around the peninsula. There
wasn't much to look at but we managed to get some money (which was the main
reason for the trip) and find some fish for lunch. We then grabbed a cab to the
terminal, but it's the wrong terminal but fortunately there are also busses
from here to Canoa it just takes a bit longer.

We
didn't have to wait too long so we jumped on the next bus to Canoa.
Unfortunately we had to watch the sunset through the window as we were a little
later than planned.

At
the hostel we had a beer and were joined by the French couple and we sat
chatting for a while before taking a walk up the road to find the party. We
ended up at the supermarket where we grabbed another beer and made our way back
to the bars. We settled on Suki Bar where we had a cocktail before taking a
walk to find the next place. There wasn't much open so stopped at the last bar
for a few drinks and it didn't take long for it to get very full and the locals
to take over the dance floor. All the bars and "clubs" are on the
beach so there isn't really a space limit but you do try to get close to the
bar in order to avoid the music from the other places.

We
danced and had a few more drinks before calling it a night. I think I will try
get back to Montanita tomorrow to meet up with Julie (a friend from Huanchaco) before
she heads to Columbia before coming back to work in Ecuador.
