I
woke up at 7 and enjoyed a slow start to the day and eventually got up and made
my way to the common area. Joel returned from going to grab some bread and
cheese for breakfast and let us know that the fishermen were bringing in their
nets and if we helped them they may give us some fish.

Joel,
Pedro and I made our way down to the beach where we helped them pull in their
nets (I think we may not have helped very much. It was interesting to watch as
they seemed to sort the fish a little by taking out the prawns, crayfish and some
of the bigger fish before shoveling the rest into a bucket and taking it to a
car on the beach to sort further. They must share the sales as a community as
certain people got a certain kind of seafood. After the nets were emptied the
fishermen gave us some of their catch for "helping" and we made our
way back across the road where we started work for the day. I finished off
construction of the daybed but I still need to sand and paint it to make it
look pretty.

For
lunch we got going on the fish and I drove (for the first time in over 6 months
and on the wrong side of the road) to get some more beer and some limes. Back
at the hostel Pedro and Tarzan (one of the local workers) got a braai going and
cooked some rice and battered some fish on it while Joel and I made some
ceviche. By the time we ate there was so much fish that we didn't even touch
the ceviche and some of the bigger fish so we kept these for dinner.

After
a bit of cleanup we continued to enjoy a few beers and not before long I was
enjoying a nap on one of the outside beds amongst all the building hubbub. It
wasn't a long nap and when I got up I read a little before chilling on the bed.
I then took the bike for a quick meander around town before enjoying our homemade
ceviche.

We
then took a walk to a place called Bamboo where we met up with a few gringo
locals and had some beers while watching the Copa America game between
Argentina and Uruguay (Argentina win 1-0). We then went back to a locals place
(Stuart) and finished off his rum while enjoying the view from his rooftop
balcony.

Joel
and I then took a walk back to the cabanas where we met up with Isabel and
Pedro. We all sat chatting for a while before calling it a night and making our
way to bed.
