I
managed to sleep most of the way with waking up every now and then but
basically slept from start to finish.

In
Oaxaca I did some research for my next stop while in the bus terminal before
grabbing a cab and getting to my hostel. In the hostel I had some breakfast
before taking a walk around the town.

It
really feels like the Mexico I pictured with sounds of trumpets and guitars
pouring out of shop windows. It really does feel so good to be here. Needless
to say that it helps that the woman are also rather attractive.

I
walked around the older part of the city and in the main church (Santo Domingo
de Guzmán). The church had beautiful gold trim everywhere and was incredibly
ornate and detailed. I just kept walking for a few hours just taking in the
heat, smells, music and people. It's great to be on the move again and I am
really looking forward to the rest of Mexico.

I
got back to the hostel and checked in and went to have a look at the rooftop
terrace where I interrupted one of the people staying here while she was
sunbathing topless. After enjoying the views I made my way to La Parrilla
Azteka where I had a torta (basically a sandwich) which was served with 4
different kinds of chilli and tomato and onion salsa.

Back
at the hostel I chatted and made new friends before going to have a nap when
the thunder started rolling in. When I got up the rain had finished and it was
still warm and light outside. I made my way downstairs and continued chatting
before organising to go get some dinner and Mezkal. We walked back to Zocalo
and around the market but unfortunately everything was closed or closing so
went back to Zocalo to get our mole and Mezkal. The food was good but the mole
negra was a little sweeter than I expected. I think I will try a spicy one next
time. The Mezkal was served with chilli salt and oranges but I rather sipped it
on its own. It's not my favourite but think I will keep trying as there are so
many different types. The restaurant had a great vibe as there was a band and
the locals were always up and dancing. Even the old ones who looked like they
weren't even able to walk.

After
dinner we grabbed some beer and enjoyed them in the hostel before calling it a
night.
