The celebrations started the night before but today we got
up early to get to the meeting point where we would go skydiving. We duly woke
at 7 and got walking the few blocks and approached the van. The guy sitting
inside took one look at me and asked “how much do you weigh?”. I was a little
surprised by the question but responded with 95kg (but who knows after all this
steak and beer). He then said that the max weight they can jump with is 95kg so
am I sure. Damien and I deliberated for a while before deciding it’s not worth
wasting the day if I cannot jump so we made our way back to the hostel and
caught up on some sleep.

At about 1 we got up and made our way to Recoleta where we
had lunch under a massive guacho tree. From there we took a walk into the cemetery
which is one of the most expensive places to be buried. WE took a walk around
and were completely amazed at the size of some of the grave sites. Evita Perron
(Duarte) is buried here but we were unable to find her so left the cemetery and
continued walking around Recoleta.

We saw some statues (which we had no idea what their
significance was) and then also a tribute statue to Evita and then through a
few parks which had some amazing statues made out of old metal components.

From there we continued to the flower which is a metal
sphere that blooms each morning into a flower. From there we headed past the
university and then decided to return to the hostel for another nap.

At about 9 we made our way to the asado area where the braai
/ asado / bbq was well under way. We began the evening with a few beers and
then enjoyed another massive meal with steak, chicken, charizo, salads, etc
etc.

After dinner we decided to crack the Jura to finish the
celebration in style. It went down a dream and before we knew it the litre bottle
was finished and so made our way to bed...
