The bus was on time and very comfortable and got us to Rio
without a hitch and some much needed sleep. From there we grabbed a cab to the
airport and checked into our flight to Iguazu. Everything was just working which
was awesome after my travel experiences so far!

We then had some time to kill at the airport so had a
toasted ham and cheese for breakfast followed by a few beers and then made our
way through security and to the boarding gate. While waiting at the gate we
noticed that our gate number had changed and then the board indicated that the
flight was delayed by 20 minutes, not too bad. Eventually we boarded the flight
with beer in hand.

Both Damien and I took our seats and popped the beer into
the seat in front of us and passed out. The next thing we knew it the captain
was announcing that we were making our decent. An awesome 2 hours sleep before
a busy day ahead. Yes, we didn’t even touch the beers!

We made our way to San Juan Eco Hotel, where we were staying
for the night, and checked in and booked a boat trip for the day and a Christmas
Eve dinner.

We made our way to the park and to the boat trip. The boat
trip included a drive and walk through the forest. From there we made our way
to the boat which took us up the river to the falls for some awesome views and
a little fun in the water. We got soaked but were extremely grateful for the
air conditioning it provided. On the way back we played around in the rapids
before walking along the walkways and enjoying the phenomenal views and
eventually made our way to devils throat before catching the last bus out of
the park. I actually don’t have any words
to describe the views and the pictures don’t do it any justice. You are just
going to have to see it for yourself.

Back at the hotel we sat at the pool enjoying some beer and
watched the sunset before showering and getting changed for Christmas Eve
dinner. The dinner was a buffet with turkey, ham, chicken, salads, fruit and
plenty of cakes. Needless to say we ate our full but Damien did say that it
didn’t feel like Christmas dinner as he could still find space for more.

After dinner we returned to the pool with a few whiskies and
saw in Christmas day.
