I enjoyed a nice fruit and toast breakfast before packing my bag and catching the bus. As I got onto the bus I was told about an exit fee for when we leave Mexico of MX 390. Fortunately I had some pesos left but also had to use a few dollars. In the bus I chatted to a few other travelers to pass the time. We stopped in Chetumal and picked up a few more travelers before we hit the border. It was a simple crossing with nothing much of interest happening except for the fact that I was speaking English now.

As we drove through Belize it was strange to see signs in English and it really made me feel like I was in the Caribbean. With the tropical landscapes and the definite singing nature of the way people speak. When we stopped I also heard another language being spoken which turned out to be Creole. I have also noticed that there are a lot more black people around then I have seen anywhere else on this trip.

At the ferry terminal we checked in our bags before getting our tickets and headed for the boarding line. Of everyone on the bus I was the only one who was going to San Pedro but a few of the people from the bus got on the same boat as me as we headed out into the Caribbean and to Caye Caulker to drop most of the passengers off. On the boat I got a glimpse of a few dolphins swimming in our wake but they didn't hang around for long.

On San Pedro I took a walk through the town to my hostel where I settled in and grabbed a few drinks and some food before John joined me. We chatted and caught up over a few drinks before heading out to get some dinner. I wasn't very hungry as I recently ate but I had some pupuchas which is a Salvadorian dish and is basically a stuffed pita bread. It was tasty but think I should try some Belize food.

We walked back to the hostel to drop John's bag and grab another drink before heading to Pedro's Inn for ladies night. We were very early so just had a few more drinks but the music was pretty bad and not many people around so we headed back to the hostel and called it a night.
