I
didn't sleep very well after such a big meal so I took my time in the morning
and lay in bed doing some research on the Internet and also playing with some
photos. After a while I needed a better internet connection so I made my way to
the communal area where I got my pictures to upload. I also met up with Sarah
and Kathrin and we decided to make out way to Agua Blanca.

We
put out things together and made our way to the bus stop. As usual we waited a
while and grabbed an ice cream before jumping on the bus. We went through
Puerto Lopez and a bus terminal before jumping off at the entrance to Agua
Blanca. Here we paid our entrance fees and jumped on the back of a passing
bakkie to catch a lift into the museum. A guide then took us around the little
museum and showed us some pots and artifacts that had been found in the area.
After the museum he took us on a walk around the area and explained everything
in Spanish. It made it a little difficult for me but I did manage to understand
a little but remembering it all was another problem. After a while we ended up
at Laguna Blanca which was rich in sulphur. They also dig the mud out of the
bottom for people to put on their skin which is supposed to be good for it due
to the high sulphur content. Who were we to disagree so we had a quick swim in
the smelly water before having some fun with the mud and covering ourselves with
it. After some good photos and a beer we decided it was time to get clean so we
jumped back into the smelly water for a swim and after a bit of scrubbing and a
cold shower I felt a little more clean which would have to do for now.

We
then had some beer on coffee before walking back to the town to make our way
back to Ayampe. In Aguas Blanca town the girls bought some more souvenirs while
I found ice-cream for all of us. We then jumped in a motor taxi to the main
road where we waited for the bus. The wait was long but one eventually came but
only took us as far as the bus terminal where we jumped off and waited for the
next bus. After about an hour and a half it finally arrived. In this time we
tried to find a taxi but there were none to be found.

Eventually
back in Ayampe we went past a tienda and got some rum and coke before heading
to the hostel where we grabbed a beer and sat on the balcony before going to
the common area for some dinner. Sami had made another Lebanese dish of a salad
and meat cake like dish. The meat cake was thin with a crust on top and bottom
with mince meat in between. Once again it was very tasty but fortunately not as
heavy as last night's dinner.

After
a few cuba libres and more multilingual conversation we called it a night.
