I
got up before my alarm as I was wide awake and packed my back before heading to
the bus station where I sat in the sun while waiting for my bus. I must admit
that I am out of breath but not sure if it's the altitude or the flu.

I
went into ticket office to ask about the bus only to notice that they had
changed the bus from a double decker to a single and had forgotten my name off
the new seating list but fortunately there were still seats available and she
just switched me to one of them.

I
put my bag on the bus and made my way to my new seat where I eagerly awaited
our departure. Just before departure a guy jumped onto the bus and walked
around trying to sell helado (with a few buyers). The bus was full and we even
had a few passengers standing.

I
slept most of the way looking out the window every now and then seeing the
mountains we were driving through. Eventually we got to Potosí where I started
walking to the hostel from the bus station and very quickly realised it wasn't
a good idea as I was feeling sick and the altitude was getting the better of
me.

On
my brief walk I noticed that all shops had massive TV’s inside and all of them
pretty much only had the wrestling on. My first impressions of these two cities
are that they are so different to Chile and Argentina. The houses are made from
brick, the roads are cement bricks and not very well maintained. It definitely
felt much more like I thought South America would be. The old ladies are so
cute with their top hats and dresses and long platted hair.

I
grabbed a cab to the hostel where I checked in before going in search of food.
I had a hamburger and fresh fruit juice for only 24 Bob (about 37 rand) before
making my way back to the hostel. At the hostel I met up with some German and
British people who I met in Uyuni and actually did the solar tour together
(just in different groups).

After
some card games we went to get some wine before going out to get some Street
food for dinner. After dinner we made our way to meet James and Ada (people who
did crossing with Germans) in a little pub before calling it night.

I
am definitely feeling more tired and am not sure if it's the altitude or flu
but I'm struggling...
