We
woke up in time to catch breakfast before making our way to the walking tour which
started at 10. We were running a little late but fortunately so was the tour.
At the start of the tour we were amazed at how the buildings seemed to be
hanging off the side of the mountain.

The
tour started with us walking to a funicular which made its way to the top of
one of the hills that surround Valparaiso. It was very steep and I was just
happy not to have to climb up there. At the op all the graffiti became a lot
more prominent and it was everywhere. We took a walk through various alleys and
got some great views of the city.

On
the way down we stopped to get some empanadas at a place that had 74 different
types so choosing became very difficult. We even got a shot of pisco sours (or
2) we continued the tour and walked up to the top of another hill which also
provided some great city views and on the way down we got some homemade
alfajors (chocolate covered biscuit with dulce de leche in between them).

At
the end of the tour we stopped at the port where there was a market where
Rebecca finally found herself a hat after looking for one since she lost hers
when it blew into the lake on te way to Viedma Glacier. After the tour we made
our way back to the hostel to eat our second empanada that we bought but
couldn't finish (they were huge). I stayed at the hostel and met some residents
while Rebecca went walking around.

I
contacted Cheryl and Rowan and met them for a drink and dinner with some other
people they had met along the way. On the way to dinner we were offered cako
espacio (looked like banana loaf but with green specs)…use your imagination :)

Made
my way back to hostel and met up with Rebecca again and then deciding to call
it a night but unfortunately was struggling to sleep so it turned into a long
uncomfortable night…
