I
woke up as we were entering the outskirts of la Paz with a few markets and
houses. We stopped and picked up a few people on the way and one of them made a
speech on the bus and started selling what looks like eastern medicine. I'm not
sure what it was for but he seemed to sell a lot of it. After a while he sat
down and enjoyed the ride into town.

It
was very misty and rainy when I arrived so I couldn't get a true perspective of
the city but it does look big with most houses built out of terracotta bricks
and terracotta tiled roofs. When we were driving in I also noticed some minibus
taxis. Not quite the same in South Africa but closest I have found so far.

After
getting off the bus and grabbing my bag I got a taxi to my hostel where I
managed to check in and for to my room immediately before grabbing some
breakfast and making my way to get some WiFi to find out that all went well
with ma's knees.

From
there I found out a little about the Death Road tours before heading to the
hostel pub where I met up with Sandra and Tina. We chatted for a while before
making our way to a market (the witches market) where there were normal items
such as leather bags, bright blankets and clothes but also a few unusual items
like llama fetuses (these are used to put under your house as good luck). We
then walked back to the hostel stopping for some Mexican food (chili con carne)
on the way back to the hostel. I then met some of my dorm mates before heading
to the bar to make some friends.

At
the bar I met a few people that I recognised from Sucre and we enjoyed a few
beers on happy hour before Tina and Sandra joined us for a few more drinks. From
here we went to Route 36 to enjoy some night life before finally getting home
at about 5am.
