We
were up early again to catch the bus to Huacachina in the hope that we would
get there as there is a bridge that has been washed away and we are not sure if
it is on our route or not.

On
the bus we made our way out of Arequipa and for the first time I was able to
see the snow capped volcanoes that usually dominate the skyline as opposed to
the cloud and rain which I was used to.

After
driving a little further the scenery changed completely with dry mountains and
green valleys dominating the views. Along the way our bus got a puncture so we
all jumped out and watched as the drivers skillfully whipped the tyre off and
replaced it. While we were standing there a guy pulled up in his little van to
sell us se ice creams. You have got to love his business sense!

We
carried on going and eventually I got to see the ocean! Oh how I have missed
you my friend! We stopped in CamaƱa for lunch before getting on the road again.
We drove along the coast a little (such nice oxygen rich air) before going
inland a little. The views were great with seeing the desert and mountains
rolling into the ocean.

After
a while we drove through nazka where we watched a semi sunset from the bus
window before hitting the nazka lines where we got a quick view before the next
group needed to get up the tower to see them. We then drove another few hours
before hitting Ica and then Huacachina.

In
Huacachina we checked into our hostel, dropped our bags and made our way to the
pub for some drinks. We enjoyed at least 2 before being joined by anyone else
on the bus. Eventually we moved from there to huacafuckingchina for some more
drinks. We took these down to the oasis where we sat and chatted before making
our way to the club next to the hostel for some more drinks before closing them
and going back to the hostel for a shower and some sleep.
