We
left the bus station and started walking in search of a coffee shop with WiFi
to find some accommodation.

As
we left the bus station we grabbed a coffee and a chicken and avo sarmie for
later and kept walking. We walked down
O'Higgins (a main road) and everything was closed (it was Sunday after all).
Walked some more and everything was closed so we sat on a bench to finish our
coffee and Rebecca filed her nails while we killed some time. We did some more
walking before looking in the lonely planet for some places to stay.

We
walked back to a hotel which was stupid expensive but were kind enough to let
us use their WiFi where we managed to find some hostels around plaza de armas
so made our way there (another 3km with full pack n the heat building). Along
the way we noticed that there was still nothing open. We got to a hostel at
about 11 to book a room and then left our packs there while we relaxed (by this
time my shirt had changed colour and was soaked in sweat).

After
a little wifi and eating half the sarmie we made our way down to the plaza for
the rest of the sarmie. We then went for a walk down a side street that had
some Street vendors and had a local peach tea drink before heading back to the
plaza for some more bench time. After
writing a little a bird decided the shit on my shoulder and leg (some splashed
onto rebecca). Rebecca started laughing and was very concerned that none got
into her hair... We went to the fountain and cleaned it off a bit and then back
to hostel to change and get ready for walking tour. In the hostel we met Nolan
and made our way to the walking tour with him. The tour was interesting but was
hungry so attention span not so good…

After
the tour we got hot dogs italiano (with guacamole, tomato and mayo) which is
like a local speciality. After the hot dogs we finally got to check in.

We
went to find beer to watch Superbowl at the hostel but it was only on in
Spanish so decided to find a bar instead. After walking around and popping into
all the bars we could find we eventually made our way to le Dublin. Here we
enjoyed some 2 for 1 specials on Coors. This was my first Superbowl and it was
good. The Patriots won which meant that Nolan lost the bet and Rebecca got to empty
a bucket of ice water over his head.

On
the way back to the hostel we tried to find some wine along the way but had no
luck but did enjoy a few dutch hops.
